Geysu Akkuş

Geysu Akkuş obtained her law degree from Bilkent University. She completed her LL.M. in "International Trade Law" at King’s College London with a master’s thesis titled "The Definition of Foreign Investor in Bilateral Investment Treaties." Additionally, she earned a second LL.M. degree in Economics and Energy Law from Hacettepe University with a project titled "The Connection Between the Energy Charter Treaty and Agreements Signed Within the Scope of the TANAP Project." 

She completed her mandatory internship in international law and arbitration at a prestigious law firm headed by Prof. Dr. Bilgin Tiryakioğlu at Bilkent University. After completing her internship, she worked as an in-house legal counsel for a global tobacco company, where she provided legal consultancy on various commercial contracts, business development advisory, contract negotiations, and compliance matters. She also gained valuable experience in commercial contracts and contract negotiations at a respected law firm ranked by Legal 500. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for drafting various agreements, ensuring their compliance with legal regulations, and meeting business needs. Additionally, she has provided legal consultancy on a broad range of topics, including business development advisory and cross-border transactions. Her strong critical thinking skills have enabled her to analyze complex legal issues and offer strategic solutions to clients. Overall, her experience in legal drafting and contract negotiations has equipped her with the necessary skills to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. She has also served as a mentor in the alumni mentoring program organized by King’s College London.
